Job summary

Walman Optical in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking a Customer Service Representative (Order Clerk) to build and maintain customer and vendor relationships, manage quotations, stock orders, returns and purchase orders, and coordinate with other departments to provide excellent service. The role requires 1+ year in customer service, strong communication, and organizational skills.

Pay ranges from $17.99 to $24.91 per hour, with eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package and total rewards,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of experience in customer service, hospitality or call center environment.
• Excellent phone etiquette and ability to stay composed with difficult customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Receive requests for price quotations, orders, changes, adjustments, and cancellations from customers and labs.
• Build rapport with customers to deliver the best possible service.
• Process returns of overstock and defective items following vendor policies and document returns.
• Assist in assembling and packing frames for auto-kit mailings and manage customer lists.
• Use a PC to retrieve and update customer information, stock status, and order status, ensuring correct coding and filing.
• Collaborate with vendors on orders and follow up on quotations and delivery information.
• Troubleshoot problems and communicate company policies, promotions, and procedures clearly.
• Maintain neat, clean, and organized work area and support cross-training of staff.
