Job summary

U-Haul is hiring a Customer Service Representative in Merrillville, IN. You will be the face of our services, assisting customers with rentals, using U-Scan tech to manage inventory, and helping with hitching, fueling, and inspection tasks at the lot.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma, and a friendly, team-oriented attitude. Job involves physical tasks and learning through U-Haul University; salaried position with potential bonuses is available.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and able to maintain a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to assist customers and operate rental technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers inside and outside the U-Haul center with products and services.
• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including fluid checks.
• Answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services.
• Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returns.
• Install hitches and trailer wiring.
• Propane filling (certification offered on employment).
• Forklift operation (certification offered on employment).
• Other duties as assigned.
