Job summary

Goodwill Central Texas is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver fast, friendly, and accurate transactions at the point of sale while maintaining store merchandising standards and a clean, safe environment. You will contribute to a positive customer experience and support the mission and values of the organization.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, explaining promotions, handling payments and refunds, assisting in training, and upholding safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Creates a high level of customer service throughout the store ensuring all customers experience a welcoming atmosphere.
• Communicates current and upcoming sales promotions and events
• Provides excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and thanking customers while meeting customer’s needs in a timely manner; ensures customer concerns and complaints are handled to the customer’s satisfaction
• Projects a favorable image of Goodwill Central Texas at all times
• Maintains a favorable working relationship with other employees to foster and promote a cooperative and inclusive working climate
• Follows policies and procedures and executes directives in a timely manner.
• Processes all forms of payments, refunds, and promotional discounts according to procedure
• Maintain workstation in a clean and organized manner
• May be asked to assist in the training process for new customer service associates and other staff cross-trained to use the point of sale system
• Responsible for executing merchandising standards
• Follows pricing and price check guidelines
• Responsible for executing salvaging standards
• Follows and adheres to safety and risk procedures and initiatives.
• Uses and maintains personal protective equipment
• Participates in weekly safety huddles, monthly safety meetings and drills
• Works to reduce worker’s compensation incidents and customer accidents
• Uses proper lifting techniques
• Uses power equipment responsibly and with appropriate certification
• Identifies recall products and properly removes them from processing
• Provides a work environment to train and develop participants in achieving their goals.
• Executes job duties in a manner that promotes employment and a quality participant experience; assists in the training and development of participants
