Job summary

Community KIA Mitsubishi of Bloomington is seeking an Automotive Service Advisor to serve as the primary link between customers and the technical team in our on-site service department. The role emphasizes building trust, solving problems, and keeping a busy shop running smoothly.

You will greet customers, document concerns, write repair orders, and present clear cost and time estimates while coordinating with technicians to prioritize work and maintain schedules.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in customer service, sales, or a service-oriented role. Experience in an automotive or repair environment is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Ability to stay organized, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort handling payments, estimates, and invoices with attention to accuracy.
• Professional demeanor with a commitment to honesty, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• On-site in Bloomington, IN; this role is not available remotely.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to move vehicles on and around the service lot, subject to company policy.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and professionally, both in person and by phone, and document their vehicle concerns accurately.
• Write detailed repair orders that capture customer concerns, vehicle information, and requested services.
• Explain recommended maintenance and repairs in clear, non-technical language, and provide accurate estimates for cost and completion time.
• Coordinate with technicians and shop leadership to prioritize work, confirm diagnoses, and keep jobs on schedule.
• Communicate proactively with customers about vehicle status, additional findings, approvals, and delays.
• Manage appointment scheduling and daily workflow to balance shop capacity with customer needs.
• Review completed work with customers, process invoices, and confirm that all charges are accurate and clearly explained.
• Resolve customer concerns courteously and escal complex issues to management when appropriate.
• Maintain organized, compliant service records and follow company policies, safety standards, and documentation procedures.
