Job summary

Community KIA Mitsubishi of Bloomington is seeking an Automotive Service Advisor to serve as the primary link between customers and the technical team in our on-site service department. The role emphasizes building trust, solving problems, and keeping a busy shop running smoothly.

You will greet customers, document concerns, write repair orders, and present clear cost and time estimates while coordinating with technicians to prioritize work and maintain schedules.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and the ability to move vehicles on and around the service lot, subject to company policy.

Responsibilities

• Explain recommended maintenance and repairs in clear, non-technical language, and provide accurate estimates for cost and completion time.

• Communicate proactively with customers about vehicle status, additional findings, approvals, and delays.
• Manage appointment scheduling and daily workflow to balance shop capacity with customer needs.
• Review completed work with customers, process invoices, and confirm that all charges are accurate and clearly explained.
• Resolve customer concerns courteously and escal complex issues to management when appropriate.
• Maintain organized, compliant service records and follow company policies, safety standards, and documentation procedures.

• Experience upselling or recommending services in a consultative, customer-first manner.
• Automotive industry training or certifications, such as manufacturer or service consultant programs.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with dealer management systems (DMS) or comparable service scheduling and repair order software.
• Working knowledge of multi-point vehicle inspections and how to present findings to customers.
• Ability to build accurate estimates using labor times, parts pricing, and applicable fees.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office or similar tools for email, documentation, and basic reporting.
• Strong time management, phone etiquette, and conflict resolution skills.
