Job summary

Dollar General Corporation Lead Sales Associate position aims to keep a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operate a cash register, stock and recover merchandise, and support the Store Manager to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting assets.

The role includes opening/closing duties, leading in the manager’s absence, and enforcing planograms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Customer service-focused with ability to follow safety and cash handling policies.
• Ability to operate cash register and handle transactions.
• Ability to read planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Frequent walking and standing with ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner; total purchases, collect payments, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves; build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; maintain restrooms and stockroom.
• Open/close the store under direction; perform duties in the absence of Store Manager.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
