Job summary

CRH Americas Building Products is seeking a Project Lead in Illinois to be the voice of the customer from estimate to on-site delivery. You will coordinate with engineering, approve submittals, and schedule with production and transportation to meet customer ship dates.

The role requires 3+ years of project management experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and familiarity with the precast/construction industry. A constructive, proactive approach is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Civil Engineering preferred).
• 3+ years project management experience.
• Ability to manage several large to small, complex projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to review and work from production schematics and engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience within the construction or precast concrete industry.

Responsibilities

• Be the “voice of the customer” across OI facilities.
• Manage multiple sales orders concurrently.
• Lead turnover/kick-off meetings at the point of sale to ensure information and paperwork are complete; review the estimate and confirm values; begin scheduling with production.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers from sale to on-site delivery.
• Provide direction to the project team: engineering, production planning, transportation, procurement and accounting.
• Prepare change order proposals promptly on owner/ client/ engineer requests.
• Monitor progress and proactively solve problems to keep projects on schedule.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and systems.
• Coordinate site visits and resolve issues from sale to completion; manage special purchases as needed.
• Manage submittals/approvals with customers.
• Coordinate with Transportation on initial delivery needs and follow up.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, inside sales, operations, and management.
• Estimate projects and obtain quotes by bid dates.
• Request pricing from vendors.
• Work with cross-functional teams to minimize schedule conflicts.
