Job summary

CRH Americas Building Products is seeking a Project Lead at our Elgin, IL facility. The role centers on representing the customer’s voice from estimate through on-site delivery, coordinating with engineering, scheduling with production, and ensuring 100% customer satisfaction on all orders.

The Project Lead acts as the main customer and vendor contact, monitors costs, attends job meetings, reviews scopes and paperwork, and ensures alignment with contract documents from sale to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; civil engineering preferred.
• 3+ years of project management experience.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to read production schematics and engineering drawings.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in construction or precast concrete industry.

Responsibilities

• Be the voice of the customer in OI facilities.
• Manage multiple sales orders concurrently.
• Lead turnover meetings at point of sale with required paperwork and schedule with production.
• Serve as primary contact for customer from sales to delivery.
• Provide direction to engineering, production planning, transportation, procurement and accounting.
• Prepare change order proposals promptly.
• Monitor progress and proactively solve problems; provide technical advice.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and systems.
• Coordinate site visits and resolve issues from sale to completion.
• Identify and requisition special purchase items.
• Manage submittals/approvals with customer.
• Communicate with Transportation for delivery needs.
• Work cross-functionally with sales, inside sales, operations, and management.
