Job summary

CyRAD Talent Solutions is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer, Mission Software in Arlington, VA or New York City. This hybrid role blends production engineering with end-user focus, taking ambiguous customer problems, prototyping quickly, and owning delivery through deployment in live environments.

You'll work with customers to understand workflows, translate requirements into technical solutions, and build full-stack prototypes, owning projects end-to-end to ensure reliability in real customer

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience writing production software.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to write, debug, and maintain production-quality code.
• Ability to work independently through ambiguous technical problems without a detailed specification.
• Clear communication skills and comfort working with both technical and nontechnical users.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand complex workflows, technical constraints, and capability gaps
• Translate ambiguous operational requirements into clear technical solutions
• Build and ship full-stack software prototypes from concept through deployment
• Own technical projects end-to-end, including less polished work to ensure reliability in real customer environments
• Rapidly evaluate ideas and determine which should become durable products versus short-term prototypes
• Bring customer feedback and technical learnings back to the engineering team to shape product direction
• Serve as the technical point of contact for customers while remaining a hands-on engineer
