Job summary

Meijer is seeking a team member for an Asset Protection/Safety role in Michigan. You will visually inspect exterior areas, conduct backroom and sales floor walkthroughs, and review reports to prevent theft and ensure safety.

The position emphasizes documentation and coordination with store leadership to address hazards. Responsibilities include surveillance of shoplifting and internal theft, test of camera equipment and alarm systems, and assisting in legal proceedings when required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in security or at least 1 year of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects building exterior/parking lot to identify hazards.
• Conducts walking inspections of backroom and sales floor.
• Reviews cashier exception reports and internal theft surveillance.
• Reviews theft activity reports and follows up as necessary.
• Contributes to apprehension of those violating the law and supports litigation as needed.
• Maintains thorough documentation and reports, enabling litigation where required.
• Tests and inspects camera equipment for proper operation and safety systems.
