Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. in New York is seeking a Customer Experience Specialist who blends customer service with storytelling and merchandise support, working with stylists and assisting with in-store events.

You will welcome customers, identify needs, and connect them to services such as Online Order Pickup or Alterations, while helping with inventory and back-of-house tasks. The role may include opening/closing and light cleaning.

Qualifications

• High ownership, accountability, and initiative.
• Ability to identify opportunities that benefit the customer and resolve issues.
• Adapt quickly to new initiatives, concepts, and services within the store.
• Proven success in fast-paced environments with the ability to multi-task.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, BookingBug, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and engage with diverse audiences.
• Understand needs and connect to services such as Online Order Pickup, Alterations, Styling, Returns, Gift Wrapping.
• Communicate professionally via phone and email; provide trend feedback.
• Support back-of-house processes including inventory management and organization.
• Assist with events: RSVPs, door greeter, contact information tracking.
• Open/close the store on some shifts following security procedures.
• Light cleaning duties: sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, dishwashing, restroom maintenance.
