Job summary

Nordstrom in New York is seeking a Customer Experience Specialist to deliver outstanding service, connect customers to services, and support in-store events. You will engage customers with storytelling, understand needs, and coordinate with stylists, alterations, and returns while maintaining store organization.

The role requires a proactive, multitasking mindset and comfort with basic tech tools. Availability for varied duties, including opening/closing the store and light cleaning, is expected.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to tell a compelling story to engage customers.
• Comfort with multitasking in a busy retail environment.
• Proficiency with basic tech tools (Outlook, Excel, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers by engaging them with a story and connecting them to services.
• Understand customer needs and route to Online Order Pickup, Alterations, Styling, Returns, Gift Wrapping, etc.
• Communicate professionally via phone and email; provide trend advice.
• Assist back-of-house tasks including inventory and organization maintenance.
• Support event execution and RSVP tracking; act as door greeter when needed.
• Assist with opening/closing the store and following security procedures.
• Perform light cleaning duties including sweeping and tidying.
