Job summary

Kroger Co. in Canton, MI is seeking a part-time Cashier/Checker to create outstanding customer experiences by greeting customers, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining a safe, clean store environment.

You will operate the POS system, handle a variety of tender types, and adhere to company policies. The role requires honesty, integrity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting while delivering helpful assistance to shoppers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math.
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greeting, engaging and assisting customers at the check lanes.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; assist with maintenance as needed.
• Provide product knowledge and help customers in-store.
