Job summary

Kroger in Toledo, OH is seeking a Cashier/Checker to create outstanding customer experiences by greeting customers, assisting them, and processing transactions quickly and accurately at the POS.

You will handle cash, checks, cards, loyalty offers, and follow company policies, safety rules, and food safety guidelines. Flexible full- and part-time scheduling with benefits and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers to create an outstanding shopping experience.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the checkout.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle tender types (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, loyalty offers).
• Adhere to cash handling, loss prevention and restricted sale item guidelines (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons; stay updated on ads and promotions.
• Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures; report unsafe conditions.
