Job summary

Kroger Co. is hiring a cashier/checker at our Canton, IL location. You will engage customers, process transactions, manage the POS system, and follow policies for cash handling, restricted items, and loss prevention. Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the checkout area.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the POS system and handle tender types (cash, check, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, etc.).
• Adhere to company policies on cash handling and loss prevention.
• Follow rules about restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Maintain clean, safe store environment and comply with safety regulations.
