Job summary

LaFontaine Automotive Group in Michigan is seeking an experienced Service Advisor to bridge customers and the service department. You’ll manage the full service experience—from write-up to delivery—and build lasting relationships while aiming to exceed CSI goals.

You will communicate service recommendations, timelines, and costs with transparency, coordinate with technicians, obtain approvals, and ensure accurate repair orders to maximize satisfaction and referrals.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as automotive service advisor or similar customer-facing role.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with dealership management system (DMS) software.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory MVR.
• Customer-first mindset; able to overcome objections and deliver a professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and professionally, assess vehicle concerns, and document accurate repair orders.
• Communicate recommended services, repair timelines, and cost estimates with transparency and confidence.
• Coordinate with technicians and the dispatcher to monitor work progress throughout the day.
• Keep customers informed of any changes to repair timelines or cost estimates via timely outbound communication.
• Obtain customer approvals, establish payment methods, and secure signatures on repair orders prior to beginning work.
• Conduct quality control reviews on completed repair orders to verify accuracy and reduce return visits.
• Maintain CSI ratings in accordance with service department goals and actively build a repeat and referral customer base.
