Connect-Force is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to directly engage with customers in Metro Detroit, Michigan, delivering technically sound equipment solutions for automated manufacturing systems.

You will review drawings, prepare detailed proposals and cost estimates, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing teams to ensure realistic and competitive solutions. The role emphasizes both technical depth and customer-facing interaction.

Qualifications

• Experience reading mechanical drawings and electrical documentation.
• Experience preparing technical proposals and quotations.
• Ability to review RFQs and supporting documentation.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer manufacturing needs and project goals.
• Review RFQs and drawings to determine requirements.
• Develop technical concepts and equipment solutions for automated machinery.
• Prepare proposals, quotations, and project scopes.
• Estimate engineering hours, labor, materials, and costs.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and project management teams.
• Present concepts to customers and address questions during the sales process.
• Identify risks and cost-saving opportunities before project awards.
• Support sales presentations, customer meetings, and handoffs.
• Build strong customer relationships as a technical resource.
