Job summary

Connect-Force in Metro Detroit is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to bridge engineering and customer needs. You will work directly with clients to translate manufacturing requirements into technical concepts for automated machinery and systems.

The role combines design insight with proposal development, cost estimation, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and project management.

Qualifications

• Experience in applications or sales engineering for industrial machinery.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical documentation.
• Experience preparing technical proposals, quotations or project scopes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of complete machine systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred; hands-on experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand needs and goals.
• Review RFQs and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Develop technical concepts and equipment solutions for automated machinery and systems.
• Prepare detailed proposals, quotations and project scopes.
• Estimate engineering hours, labor and materials.
• Present concepts to customers and support sales process.
• Build strong customer relationships as a technical resource.
• Support site visits and industry events when needed.
