Job summary

The Salvation Army in Illinois is seeking a Custodian/Driver to perform custodial duties in a multi-space facility and to support community programs.

The role includes cleaning offices and Chapel, setting up rooms for activities, and operating vans for donations and pantry deliveries. A valid driver’s license and MVR clearance are required, with adherence to all organizational policies.

Qualifications

• High School education or its equivalent preferred.
• Basic experience in maintenance and knowledge of related tools and equipment.
• Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.
• Clearance of TSA MVR check.
• This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.
• This individual will keep the Corps Officers informed on all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility.
• This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.

Responsibilities

• Custodial duties for entire building; clean offices and Chapel; vacuum carpets and mop floors.
• Attend to bathrooms and kitchen areas; restock supplies.
• Set up classrooms and rooms for activities and weekly events.
• Inspect the building periodically and replace light bulbs as needed.
• Unload and organize pantry and home goods items for donations.
• Drive Corps vans for pickups and deliveries and perform routine vehicle maintenance.
