The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial duties across the building, including offices and Chapel, and to support weekly activities and events. The role requires basic maintenance knowledge and a valid IL driver’s license.

Responsibilities include driving Corps vans for pickups, unloading goods for the food pantry, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for staff and clients. A flexible schedule and adherence to policies are essential.

Formación

• Education: High School or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Basic maintenance experience and knowledge of related tools/equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Licensed TSA MVR clearance.
• Adherence to all policies and procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Custodial duties: clean entire building including offices and Chapel; vacuum carpets and mop floors.
• Bathroom upkeep: replace towels, toilet paper, and fill soap dispensers.
• Kitchen and counters: clean surfaces in bathrooms and kitchen.
• Set up classrooms and rooms for activities and weekly events.
• Inspect building and replace light bulbs; remove cobwebs as needed.
• Empty trash from offices, kitchen, and bathrooms and dispose at the designated bin.
• Supervise Community Service workers performing cleaning and pantry support.
• Outdoor grounds maintenance: parking lot, park, and yard work.
• Unload and handle food pantry deliveries and home goods for pantry.
• Drive Corps vans for pick-ups and deliveries; arrange maintenance and report issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
