Job summary

The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division is seeking a reliable building custodian to perform cleaning, grounds upkeep, and event setup for corps activities. You will maintain a safe, clean environment for staff and clients and follow policy standards.

Responsibilities include cleaning offices and Chapel, restrooms, setting up classrooms, driving Corps vans for pickups and deliveries, and reporting vehicle issues. A high school education and valid IL driver's license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School education or its equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Basic maintenance experience and knowledge of related tools and equipment.
• Valid Driver’s license with good driving record.
• Clearance of TSA MVR check.
• Commitment to Army resources and staying informed on responsibilities.
• Adherence to all policies and procedures related to the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties to keep the building clean, including offices and Chapel.
• Set up classrooms and rooms for corps activities and weekly events.
• Attend to bathrooms and kitchens, restocking supplies as needed.
• Drive Corps vans for pickups, deliveries, and donations; report vehicle issues.
• Light to heavy physical work; maintain safe working environment.
