Job summary

Sonida Senior Living is seeking a part-time Culinary Services Cook at The Waterford Thousand Oaks. The role involves planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals, while maintaining sanitary dining areas and supporting the Culinary Services Director in a structured, efficient dining operation.

Responsibilities include timely meal service, ensuring quality, teamwork, and adherence to state/local sanitation requirements.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate per state/local requirements.
• Experience with large-volume meal prep and serving.
• Some supervisory experience; strong reading, teamwork, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to residents, including service delivery and cleanliness.
• Clean after preparation and service; clean work areas, pots and equipment.
• Ensure leftovers are properly labeled, dated and stored.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
