Job summary

The Waterford on Huebner is a Sonida Senior Living community in San Antonio seeking a Culinary Services Cook. You will plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in a timely and sanitary manner, and support the Culinary Services Director.

You will maintain dining standards, ensure portion control and cleanliness, read and follow recipes, and work flexible shifts. Benefits include health/dental insurance, 401k with match, PTO from day one, and paid training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate is required per state/local regulations.
• Experience with large-scale meal prep and serving is preferred.
• Ability to read recipes and work in a team; flexible shifts and multi-tasking are required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in a timely and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to residents including delivery, service, and cleanliness of dining room and kitchen.
• Cleans after preparation and service; maintains work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored properly.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
