The Waterford at Thousand Oaks, a Sonida Senior Living community in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a part-time Culinary Services Cook. You will plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for residents, assist the Culinary Services Director, and uphold dining standards. The role requires teamwork, adaptability to shifts, and attention to sanitation and quality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate required by state/local laws.
• Experience with volume meal preparation for large groups preferred.
• Some supervisory experience; ability to read/understand recipes and work in a team, with flexible shifts and multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services including service delivery, customer service, and cleanliness of dining room and kitchen.
• Cleans after preparation and service; maintains work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures leftovers are labeled, dated, and stored properly.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
