Job summary

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is seeking a kitchen assistant to prepare breakfast and lunch offerings, assist with serving lines, and help with occasional catering. You will perform all duties across the kitchen and ensure food safety and presentation.

You will follow Opaa! recipes, use standard equipment, maintain clean work areas, monitor temperatures, and uphold HACCP and HHFKA/CACFP guidelines while delivering friendly service to students and staff.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Language Skills: ability to read, write, and present information to customers and staff.
• Mathematical Skills: basic arithmetic for meals, portions, and counts.
• Reasoning Ability: ability to follow instructions and work with standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up of serving lines and ensure food is held at proper temperatures.
• Prepare foods according to menu plan and Opaa! recipes; batch cook as needed.
• Operate basic kitchen equipment with proper certification; keep areas clean and organized.
• Maintain FIFO inventory and ensure proper stocking of coolers and storage racks.
• Follow HACCP and safety procedures; report unsafe conditions.
