Charlotte Country Club offers Culinary Arts Intern opportunities designed to prepare for a chef’s career in the club industry. Interns rotate through the club’s three kitchens and the pastry kitchen, learning from a Michelin Star Executive Chef and participating in banquets, line cooking, and menu creation.

Applicants must be enrolled in a two-year Culinary Arts program, possess teamwork and a positive attitude, and be able to read, write, and speak English.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a two-year Culinary Arts program.
• Must read, write and speak in English.
• Knowledge of proper nutrition, sanitation and safety laws and standards.
• Team spirit and positive attitude.
• Ability to read and follow standard recipes.

Responsibilities

• Preps and cooks for dining rooms, banquets, and events.
• Operates food production equipment per manufacturers’ instructions.
• Follows standard recipes for banquet service.
• Assists in plating food items.
• Cleans preparation/serving equipment and workstation areas.
• Maintains safe, sanitary handling practices.
• Maintains cleanliness, safety, inventory, and high quality at all times.
• Provides first-class service through culinary excellence and teamwork.
