Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a Sr. Director of CTO FP&A to lead financial planning and analysis for the Central Technology Organization. You will partner with CTO and engineering leaders to manage CTO investments, both Opex and Capex, and drive cost efficiencies across technology platforms.

You will be a strategic advisor on resource allocation, cloud economics, and AI-enabled analytics, shaping long-term financial health and governance for Yahoo's global tech initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
• 10+ years of related finance experience, ideally including digital media industry experience.
• 5+ years of Management experience.
• Proven FP&A/Financial Operations focus on technology and cloud.
• Strong understanding of cloud services pricing models and trends.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills; attention to detail; problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in Excel, Google Sheets and reporting with clear data storytelling.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; able to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted productivity and analytics tools to enhance workflow velocity.

Responsibilities

• Forecasting, annual budget planning, long-range planning, and executive presentations for CTO FP&A.
• Advise CTO and engineering leaders on financials, resource allocation, metrics, cloud costs, and licensing.
• Manage end-to-end Technology P&L review monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Oversee cost budgets across Central Technology Office; ensure accountability.
• Champion AI-enabled analytics to automate variance reconciliations and month-end close.
• Develop and maintain short- and long-term financial projections using market trends.
• Provide insights to leadership to help achieve company goals and objectives.
• Assess ROI and total cost of ownership for tech initiatives including generative AI and cloud investments.
