Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience on a 40-hour weekday day shift. Technologists are valued clinical professionals and essential members of a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography).
• Certifications: ARRT-CT - ARRT Computed Tomography.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and maintain low radiation doses (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders and two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care.
• Perform exams with contrast using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly; apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients.
• Document and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; manage transfers/retrieval as needed.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies; restock crash cart and life-support equipment.
• Organize daily workflows; support department flow and compliance.
