Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to provide safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. You will be part of a collaborative radiology team delivering precise CT procedures and patient care in a busy hospital setting.

The role emphasizes ALARA dose control, patient communication using AIDET, and accurate documentation in RIS/PACS, with a 40-hour weekday day shift and sign-on/relocation incentives where eligible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology required.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification required.
• ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography) certification preferred.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines while using knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment independently, maintaining ALARA principles.
• Disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders and patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures and prep using AIDET; address patient questions to reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Administer contrast per protocol using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or adjust as needed and release patients.
• Complete accurate documentation in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retrievals as needed.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies and support life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and collaborate with team to improve department flow.
• Support compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, and escalate issues to supervision.
