Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital seeks a CT Technologist to provide high‑quality imaging and supportive patient care. The role emphasizes safe CT procedures, imaging accuracy, and clear communication with patients throughout the exam.

You will work as part of a collaborative imaging team, maintaining ALARA principles, keeping equipment clean and ready, and documenting studies promptly in RIS/PACS. A Radiologic Technology credential and ARRT CT certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) & ARRT-CT – ARRT Computed Tomography.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and maintain ALARA.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and patient identifiers.
• Explain procedures and post-care using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol; venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or adjust as needed.
• Complete accurate documentation; finalize studies in RIS/PACS.
