The CT Technologist is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality imaging procedures and providing a supportive patient experience. They work independently to operate imaging equipment, adjust techniques for optimal results while minimizing radiation exposure, and ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the process. Key duties include obtaining clinical history, explaining procedures using AIDET, administering contrast via venipuncture, positioning patients, reviewing images for quality, and documenting results accurately in RIS/PACS systems. They must maintain equipment and workspaces per infection control standards, respond to emergencies, and support departmental workflow and compliance.
High school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, and at least one year of radiology experience. Required certifications are ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS from the American Heart Association. Skills include technical proficiency, attention to detail, patient communication, and teamwork.
