Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to assess patients and perform routine CT procedures following radiation safety standards. This role also serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Effective candidates will hold ARRT certification with CT registry eligibility (CT registry within 90 days or eligibility), a current state license, and BLS certification. CT experience and advanced CT certification are preferred. Flexibility in schedule may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT certification and CT registry eligibility; CT registry within 1 year of eligibility
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Advanced CT certification within one year of CT registry eligibility
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain patient confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and patient procedure details for accuracy.
• Independently operate CT equipment and position patients per protocol.
• Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission or reporting.
• Perform quality control tasks and report deviations.
• Assist in department operations such as inventory, schedules, and equipment maintenance.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain informed consent as required.
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Adapt communication and procedures to diverse patient populations.
