Job summary

Hendricks Regional Health is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to actively assist surgeons during operations, maintain a sterile field, and support patient care throughout the surgical process. The CSFA must have CST experience and hold CSFA designation with certification ongoing.

Responsibilities include expediting surgical time, collaborating with anesthesia, and maintaining patient privacy and compliance with HIPAA and facility policies.

Qualifications

• A CST who holds a CSFA designation must have successfully completed a certified surgical technology program and maintain certification.
• A CSFA must be a CST with operating room experience who has completed a CAAHEP-accredited surgical assisting program.

Responsibilities

• Expedite total surgical time by assisting the surgeon and with patient care activities.
• Promote OR efficiency and expedite turnover times with anesthesia and staff.
• Prepare for operation and judiciously use supplies.
• Follow OR policies and guidelines to maintain a sterile environment.
• Assist the surgical team in maintaining patient safety and privacy.
