Job summary

Norton Healthcare is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to assist surgeons in the operating room under direct supervision. The CSFA will apply sterile technique, assist with hemostasis, suturing, dressings, and may participate in on-call duties as needed. Credentialing must be completed prior to working in this role.

The position emphasizes patient care in surgical settings and requires the candidate to hold CSFA, CSA, SAC, or MD credentials as part of the eligibility criteria.

Qualifications

• Must have hospital and/or payer credentialing completed before functioning in this role.
• One of: CSFA or CSA or SAC or MD.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures requiring sterile technique during surgical procedures under supervision of the surgeon.
• Hold retractors, suction and sponge the operative site.
• Apply dressings, provide hemostasis and suturing.
• On‑call services may be required.
