Job summary

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Pulaski is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to provide direct assistance to the surgeon during operative procedures, position patients for optimal exposure, and ensure sterile technique. You will collaborate with the surgical team to promote safe, efficient workflow.

Requirements include CSFA certification and BLS, with an accredited program completed. An associate's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical First Assist program required.
• CSFA certification and BLS certification required.
• Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct assistance to the surgeon during operative procedures.
• Position patients for optimal exposure and patient comfort.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards.
• Assist with tissue manipulation, retraction, suctioning, and wound closure as directed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other team members.
• Promote efficient workflow and patient safety during procedures.
