Job summary

Hendricks is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) with CST background and OR experience to assist surgeons, maintain sterility, and support patient care. The role requires adherence to CST/CAAHEP standards, collaboration with anesthesia, and flexible scheduling for shifts and call coverage.

Responsibilities include improving OR efficiency, following safety protocols, and mentoring others while maintaining patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• A CST who holds a CSFA designation must have successfully completed a certified surgical technology program and maintain certification.
• A CSFA must be a CST with operating room experience who has successfully completed and graduated from a CAAHEP accredited surgical assisting program.
• NBSTSA CST certification must be current; ASA certification requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Expedite total surgical time by assisting the surgeon and patient care activities as appropriate.
• Collaborates with anesthesia and staff to promote OR efficiency and faster turnover.
• Prepares for operation and judiciously uses supplies.
• Flexible with assignments, call coverage, and hours.
• Follow manufacturer's guidelines for instruments and equipment.
• Maintain sterile environment and participate in time-outs.
