Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Liquid Systems Responsible Engineer III for cryogenic propellant management hardware across multiple sites. The role blends design support with manufacturing engineering, emphasizing DFM, fabrication, verification, and process documentation.

You will work on propulsion-related fluid hardware, coordinate with suppliers, and help ensure manufacturability and quality per AS9100 standards in a fast-paced spaceflight environment.

Qualifications

  • BS in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, physics or related field.
  • 5+ years in cryogenic fluids and mechanical systems, or manufacturing/industrial engineering.
  • Experience supporting development, integration or certification of aerospace systems for flight.
  • Hands-on with fluid/gas components: valves, manifolds, regulators, vessels, instrumentation.
  • Experience translating requirements into manufacturing processes and providing DFM/DFA input.
  • Experience with cryogenic fluid management techniques and technologies.
  • Clear, English-language work instructions and manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Support hardware ownership of cryogenic propellant management components, contributing to requirements, design and verification.
  • Work on subsystems within the Zero-g Propellant Management IPT and escalate complex issues.
  • Support trade studies, component design/integration, analysis, and supplier interface for fluid hardware.
  • Track procurements and dependencies to support schedules.
  • Participate in technical meetings on cryogenic hardware development.
  • Support DFM/DFA/DFT reviews and flag manufacturability concerns during design phases.
  • Translate engineering requirements into manufacturing processes for fabrication, assembly, cleaning and testing.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing docs: work instructions, process flows, tool designs, inspection plans.
  • Support root-cause analysis and MRB dispositions under guidance.
