Job summary

Blue Origin in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Cryogenic Responsible Engineer to support model and drawing work for cryogenic propellant management hardware from concept through release. You will craft Creo models and drawings, apply PMI, and collaborate with suppliers to advance a high-performance spaceflight system.

The role demands strong CAD/Drafting discipline, GD&T expertise, and experience with CN release processes in a fast-paced environment. Relocation and travel up to 25% are possible.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area.
• 5+ years of experience in cryogenic fluids and mechanical systems/components.
• Experience supporting development, integration, or certification of aerospace systems for flight.
• Experience with fluid/gas components (solenoid valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels, instrumentation).
• Experience with Cryogenic Fluid Management techniques and technologies.
• Proficiency with Creo Parametric for parts, assemblies, weldments, and drawings.
• Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and application to hardware.
• Experience within a formal configuration management / engineering change / release process.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex cryogenic subsystems and components within the Zero-g Propellant Management IPT.
• Support hardware ownership from definition through delivery, contributing to design and verification activities.
• Track procurements and hardware dependencies to support subsystem delivery schedules.
• Contribute to trade studies, component design/integration, and test support.
• Develop and release Creo models and drawings for cryogenic hardware (valves, manifolds, tubing, pressure vessels, supports).
• Create fabrication and assembly drawings per drafting standards and GD&T requirements.
• Apply Model Based Definition and PMI on controlled deliverables.
• Maintain CAD modeling conventions and CN-controlled release processes in Windchill.
