Job summary

SpaceX in Starbase, Texas, is hiring a Process Operator Specialist for the new Air Separation Unit (ASU) at Starship. You will operate cryogenic distillation equipment, turboexpanders, compressors and molecular sieve beds, monitor parameters, follow procedures, and participate in startup/shutdown activities while building hands-on expertise in cryogenic physics and LOX production.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 6+ years in related field; strong hands-on plant ops.
• Experience with automated industrial processes.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and process diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ASU via DCS/HMI and perform field rounds to spot deviations.
• Troubleshoot and calibrate critical ASU equipment including compressors and distillation columns.
• Execute startups, shutdowns, mode changes, and abnormal situation responses.
• Collect samples, perform field tests, log data, and report deviations.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to implement improvements in the field.
