Job summary

SpaceX is building its first production-scale Air Separation Unit at Starbase and seeks a Process Operator Specialist, Air Separation Unit (Starship) to operate cryogenic distillation, turboexpanders, and LOX production. You will monitor parameters, run startups, perform field rounds, and contribute to continuous improvement with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or process engineering tech or 6+ years in industrial operations.
• 4+ years operating or supporting automated industrial processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the ASU via DCS and log deviations.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate critical ASU equipment.
• Execute plant startups/shutdowns and alarm responses per procedures.
• Collect samples, run basic tests, and report data deviations.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve procedures and checklists.
• Develop operating procedures rooted in cryogenic physics and first principles.
