Job summary

SpaceX is building its first production-scale Air Separation Unit at Starbase to produce high-purity LOX for Starship. As a Process Operator Specialist, you will monitor cryogenic distillation systems and support compressors, turbines, and safety programs in a high-stakes environment.

You will perform field rounds, execute startups/shutdowns, and uphold process safety, housekeeping, and 5S standards while advancing toward independent watch standing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• 1+ years in industrial environments or plant operations dealing with air separation units or cryogenics.
• Willingness to work hours including extended shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the ASU via distributed control system and conduct thorough field rounds.
• Execute plant startups/shutdowns and mode changes per procedures and alarm matrices.
• Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration of ASU equipment.
• Collect process samples, log data accurately, and react to deviations.
• Perform lockout/tagout, permit-to-work, and PSM activities; maintain 5S and housekeeping.
• Learn and qualify on SOPs, participate in continuous improvement, and assist shift pass-down.
