Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Process Operator Specialist for the Air Separation Unit (STARSHIP) at Starbase. You will operate cryogenic distillation, turboexpanders, centrifugal compressors, and molecular sieve systems to produce LOX and enable Starship propulsion.

With 4+ years in industrial operations and an engineering technology associate degree, you will work with DCS/HMI, LOTO, and PSM while supporting startups, shutdowns, and continuous improvement on site.

Qualifications

Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or process engineering technology, or 6+ years industrial plant ops.
4+ years operating or supporting automated industrial processes.
Experience with cryogenic air separation and LOX production.

Responsibilities

Monitor the ASU via distributed control system and field rounds, identifying deviations early.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate critical ASU equipment including compressors and cryogenic columns.
Execute plant startups, shutdowns, mode changes, and alarm responses per procedures.
Collect samples, log data accurately, and report deviations immediately.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to improve field designs and procedures.
Develop and refine operating procedures, checklists, and troubleshooting guides.
Perform lockout/tagout and PSM activities with discipline.
Maintain 5S, housekeeping, and visual management in the Starbase area.
Coordinate resources and support critical spares inventory and reliability efforts.
