Job summary

Hornblower Group’s City Experiences unit is seeking a Server Assistant aboard our scenic passenger vessel in Norfolk, VA. You will support servers, assist with food and beverage service, and help deliver a memorable cruise experience with great guest interactions.

Role requires a high school diploma, willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and prior hospitality experience is a plus. You will be standing for long periods and must be comfortable on a moving vessel with safety training

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet minimum state age requirements.
• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well with guests, coworkers, and leadership.
• Professional appearance and ability to meet uniform and grooming standards.
• Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, attentive hospitality to guests throughout their cruise experience.
• Assist servers with delivering food and beverages and clearing used dishes and glassware.
• Scrape, stack, and transport tableware to the galley for cleaning.
• Set up and break down dining rooms and service stations.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized guest areas and service stations.
• Assist with greeting and seating guests in a welcoming and efficient manner.
• Provide guests with information about menus, service, entertainment, cruise routes, and points of interest.
• Support teammates and complete additional duties as assigned.
