Hornblower Group’s City Cruises US is seeking a Server Assistant to support our dining team aboard a passenger vessel in Norfolk, VA. You’ll help servers, deliver food and beverages, and contribute to an unforgettable cruise experience with skyline views.

The role requires hospitality chops, strong customer service, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. High School Diploma or equivalent is required; some restaurant or hospitality background is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet minimum state age requirements.
• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well with guests, coworkers, and leadership.
• Professional appearance and ability to meet uniform and grooming standards.
• Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, attentive hospitality to guests throughout their cruise experience.
• Assist servers with delivering food and beverages and clearing used dishes and glassware.
• Scrape, stack, and transport tableware to the galley for cleaning.
• Set up and break down dining rooms and service stations.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized guest areas and service stations.
• Assist with greeting and seating guests in a welcoming and efficient manner.
• Provide guests with information about menus, service, entertainment, cruise routes, and points of interest.
• Support teammates and complete additional duties as assigned.
