Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and deliver initiatives across the org. You will establish scope, schedules, deliverables, and governance, partnering with sponsors, functional teams, and stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.

The role requires 3-5 years of PM experience, strong communication, and the ability to adapt PM practices to project size and needs. Hybrid work is offered with visa sponsorship not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, project management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• PMP or CAPM certification preferred.
• 3-5 years of project management experience coordinating cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects through full lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, delivery, closeout.
• Develop and maintain project plans with scope, milestones, timelines, and dependencies.
• Coordinate cross-functional project teams; clarify roles, priorities, and expectations.
• Monitor progress; report risks, issues, decisions, and changes to sponsors.
• Identify and manage risks and dependencies; escalate as needed.
• Lead meetings; document outcomes and track commitments.
• Control scope, schedule, and resources; manage changes through governance.
