Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and deliver technology and education service projects. You will define scope, schedules, deliverables, and governance while partnering with sponsors and teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will apply standardized PM practices, adapt to project size and complexity, and drive continuous improvement. This role supports a hybrid work model with remote and office presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, project management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• PMP or CAPM certification is preferred.
• 3-5 years of project management experience coordinating cross-functional projects.
• Experience developing project plans and managing scope, schedules, deliverables, risks, and issues.
• Experience communicating project status and facilitating decisions with sponsors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects through full lifecycle: initiation to closeout.
• Develop and maintain project plans with scope, milestones, timelines.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and clarify roles and priorities.
• Monitor progress and communicate risks, issues, decisions to sponsors.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks and dependencies; escalate when needed.
• Facilitate meetings and document outcomes, track commitments.
• Control changes to scope, schedule, and resources through governance.
• Coordinate budgets, vendor activities, and administrative tasks.
• Maintain project documentation for transparency and accountability.
• Apply lessons learned to improve PM practices.
