Nelnet Business Services (NBS), a division of Nelnet, Inc., seeks a Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and deliver projects aligning with business objectives. This role defines scope, schedules, deliverables, governance, and manages risks, issues, and decisions across sponsors and stakeholders.

The position offers a hybrid work option with remote work for associates living within 30 miles of an office location and in-office three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, project management, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 3-5 years of project management experience coordinating cross-functional projects or initiatives.
• Experience developing project plans and managing scope, schedules, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues.
• Experience communicating project status and facilitating decisions with project teams, sponsors, and stakeholders.
• PMP or CAPM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects through the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, delivery, and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project plans defining scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, resources, and timelines.
• Coordinate cross-functional project teams and clarify roles, priorities, and expectations.
• Monitor progress and communicate status, risks, issues, decisions, and changes to sponsors and stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating items as needed.
• Facilitate project meetings and follow-up by documenting outcomes and tracking commitments.
• Manage changes to scope, schedule, resources, and deliverables via governance and approvals.
• Coordinate budgets, resources, vendor activities, and related administrative tasks.
• Maintain project documentation and reporting for transparency and decisions.
• Promote continuous improvement by applying lessons learned and best practices.
