Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a field service technician for the Critical Power Group in Richmond, VA. You will service UPS systems, batteries, and related equipment at government, institutional, and commercial facilities, with 24/7 on-call requirements and some travel.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in UPS maintenance, strong electrical knowledge, and excellent communication skills. Training and safety programs are provided; join a team focused on reliability and quality.

Qualifications

• AA/BS degree in Electrical and/or Electronics from an accredited college or university, or equivalent training from field or military position.
• This position requires at least 5+ years of experience with UPS systems, batteries, test equipment, and associated electrical apparatuses.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematic diagrams.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC, maintenance practices, and quality control procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose malfunctions and employ testing and inspection techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, and troubleshoot UPS systems and batteries.
• Install and repair static switch and PDU systems.
• Coordinate on-site subcontractors and maintain safety standards.
• Prepare Field Service Reports and Timesheets.
• Provide technical support to customers.
