Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician for the Critical Power Group to service UPS systems, batteries, and static/PDU equipment at customer sites. You will travel daily, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to emergency service calls, while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have an electrical/electronics degree, 3+ years of UPS experience, schematic skills, and strong communication. Training and career growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• AA/BS degree in Electrical and/or Electronics or equivalent training.
• 3+ years of experience with UPS systems, batteries, test equipment, and related electrical apparatuses (switchgear, panels, breakers, disconnects, ATSs, generators).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematic diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, maintenance practices, and quality control procedures.
• Ability to diagnose malfunctions and perform testing/inspection techniques.
• Experience using a laptop and various software packages.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Manufacturer maintenance training/certifications are a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Daily travel with independent work structure.
• Emergency call availability 24/7 unless on PTO or Off Call.
• Maintain safeguard company issued equipment, tools, and instruments.
• Install and repair of static switch and PDU systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment under contract.
• Interfacing with customers and providing technical support.
• Report availability status to corporate office and team leads.
• Protect company information and records.
• Use of electronic test equipment as necessary.
• Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors as needed.
• Maintain vehicle in safe condition and insurance as required.
• Ensure work meets M.C. Dean standards.
• Complete all paperwork on time (Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports).
• Provide technical support to customers; maintain documentation for review.
• Attend product training as required and cross-train others as needed.
