Qualifications

• Credentialed as an RRT by the NBRC.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (AHA) required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment and can perform prescribed procedures.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and conducts diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilation.
• Evaluates therapies and makes recommendations on plans of care and patient education.
• Documents therapy results and communicates with the healthcare team.
• Conducts respiratory care techniques in emergencies and analyzes blood gas results.
• Works independently across patient care areas and uses the EMR systems.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements and proficiency evaluations.
